Have you been putting off waxing or sugaring?
Enrapture Salon & Day Spa uses Ceripil by Perron Rigot Blue hard wax and Ease Cream soft wax products. Ceripil Wax delivers superior performance, removing stubborn hair as short as 1mm (1/16”). Formulated to be very elastic and pliable, Ceripil Wax grips and shrink-wraps short hair for easy, effective and long lasting results. Our low temperature and gentle formulas provide nurturing and conditioning benefits for extra guest comfort, leaving skin smooth and soft to the touch.Your comfort is important to us. We take our time to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. For those ultra sensitive areas like the bikini line, face and underarms, we use a very gentle, soothing “hard wax.
We also offer ~ Full Body Sugaring!“Body sugaring is the ancient art of hair removal. It gently removes unwanted hair and dead skin cells for clean smooth skin. Sugar paste for hair removal dates back as far as 300 B.C. and was first discovered to have originated in Egypt. With the skin care industry becoming more “health conscious” and seeking more organic methods for healthier skin, the “sugaring” method for hair removal has gained increased popularity, and we have found a way to make hair removal a more gentle yet more effective treatment.
Q:How long does the hair need to be before I wax?
A: The organic wax/sugar we use at Enrapture Salon & Day Spa is very gentle and can remove hair as short as 1mm. Most other waxes on the market today require the hair to be at least 6mm or 1/4 inch. So at 1mm this is very convenient for our guests.
If you are waxing the legs the hair should be a bit longer. 2mm or more is ideal. If the hair is too long, the esthetician performing the service may need to trim the hair.
Q:What do I need to do before my appointment?
A: Do use a body scrub. While the skin on the face is generally exfoliated enough in terms of waxing/sugaring, the body needs a little extra help to rid dead cells around skin pores and hair follicle, providing an easier exit. Exfoliating removes dead skin cells, ultimately allowing the hair to be removed more easily. You may want to bring undergarments that you will be most comfortable in. Otherwise we will provide you with disposable underwear for your comfort.
Q:What about after care?
A: Ask for our “Tamara’s Healing Oil” from the spa to take home with you to keep ingrown hairs down to a minimum. It’s also a great staple for your first aid kit to aide in the healing of scrapes, cuts and insect bites. Compared to other popular hair removal methods like shaving and depilitory creams, waxing/sugaring is quite kind to the skin and suitable for most sensitive areas of the body. Nevertheless, the waxing/sugaring hair removal method significantly reduces hair growth, so sessions are much less frequent than other hair removal practices.
Q:I want a brazilian, will I really need to get on all fours?
A: Fortunately, the answer is no. There are other methods of removing the hair in those areas. Of course, if you choose not to do this that won’t be a problem, you just may have some hair that will remain.
Q:I’ve never done this before, how bad does it hurt?
A: Let’s not kid ourselves. The first time you wax/sugar, it might be a little uncomfortable. But the benefits far out weigh the cons. After the first couple of times it just gets easier and easier. Our wax/sugar is so soothing and gentle you will NEVER want to pick up that razor again!Purchase our “Bare Ease Lidocaine Cream” to take the edge off! It really helps!
Q:What is a brazilian wax?
A: A Brazilian wax is where all the hair, or almost all the hair in the bikini area is waxed. That includes front, inside and out including the buttocks.
Q:Does medication effect waxing?
A:YES! You cannot be waxed/sugared, if you are taking Accutane, Retin-A or antibiotics or blood thinning medications.
Q:Does waxing make the hair darker or more coarse?
A: No. The hair will grow back the same as before but there will be less of it.
Q:How long will my skin be smooth after I wax/sugar?
A: Everyone is different, but you can expect to be smooth for at least 3 weeks before seeing any re-growth. Appointments are typically every 4 weeks.
Q:Does tanning effect waxing/sugaring?
A: Yes! Please wait a couple of days in between your tanning and waxing/sugaring appointments. Your skin is very sensitive after sun exposure and we cannot wax/sugar anyone that has been exposed to a lot of sun. Waxing/sugaring directly after tanning could lift the skin.
This page is intended to ease the worries of any of you gentlemen who are a bit nervous about waxing or sugaring.
We want you to know that the service(s) you’re interested in are perfectly safe and normal. For years, men have been removing body hair for a number of reasons such as athletics, a desire to feel sexier, etc. In fact, male waxing/sugaring has become hugely popular in many salons and spas. From drill sergeants to famous athletes, dads, and A-list actors, more and more regular guys are choosing to wax/sugar over any other hair removal method. Less irritating than shaving and more attractive than buzzing down, waxing/sugaring also lasts a heck of a lot longer, cutting down on your daily hair removal regimen.
Still have questions? We’ve answered some of the most common ones here:
Q:I’ve tried waxing my back and chest but those areas always break out with little red and white angry spots. What can I do to prevent this from happening?
A: Unfortunately this is quite common, especially on men with sensitive skin or coarse hair and deep roots. Many men only break out the first couple of times they wax. Once a person’s skin gets used to regular exfoliation and hair removal, breakouts often stop.
We also take many precautions to prevent breakouts: After a wax, we treat the skin with antiseptic and antibacterial products. After this, we apply an additional solution to soothe irritation.
Q I’m really paranoid about getting a…um…you know…stiffy during my wax. What happens if I do?
A: We’re all grown ups and professionals at Enrapture Salon & Day Spa (and we expect our guests to act like adults as well). We know erections can happen due to nerves. Don’t sweat it! Truthfully, we’re not going to acknowledge it anyway.
Q: What’s up with male bikini waxing? I manscape my nether regions, but I’m wondering what’s involved in the ManZilian/BroZilian.
A: There are many reasons men, choose to wax or sugar their intimate parts. Some men have partners who prefer it, others like to feel clean, and many men who are athletic need those areas cleaned up for hygiene and safety reasons. We look at male bikini waxing the same way we view female bikini waxing: that it’s a perfectly acceptable form of grooming.
Yes, there might be some discomfort associated with it. See How to Prepare (below) and follow our instructions for minimizing pain. If you’re nervous, ease yourself into male bikini waxing slowly by starting with a cheek smoothing buttocks wax. It’s your body, you’re the guest, and we will do everything we can to make it a good experience! Our Service Providers are all well trained and have a loyal male guest following.
Q: I want to wax my shoulders, perhaps even my bikini line, but I’m worried it will look weird. What do you do to make a wax look natural?
A: It’s all about blending and having an artistic eye. We won’t make the hair come to a blunt end or give you some crazy geometric shape you don’t want. A lot of men like the random patches of hair removed from the fronts, sides and backs of their shoulders. You’ll be given plenty of opportunity to tell us what you want, and don’t worry; we’re trained to know our stuff!
Q: I’ve got lots of small patches of hair on my body that bother me. Can I book an appointment just for those?
A: Once you’re in the room with your esthetician, you may add some of the smaller services to your ticket as time permits.
